Happenings

September 2, 2008

Welcome to our new website. I am very excited to finally have this beautiful site on-line and ready to promote our fabulous grass fed beef. Thanks to Matthew Perrier for creating a site that looks great and is easy to use. Thanks to my husband Dave Reford for taking all the fantastic photos. I hope our friends, long-time customers and customers-to-be enjoy checking out the pictures and finding out about the benefits our beef has to offer.

It has been a real wing-ding of a hay season around here. It rained all of July, so no hay was cut. Lots of pasture, which is great, but pasture doesn’t get you through the winter. It finally stopped raining in the beginning of August and we have been glued to the tractors ever since. Hay season is supposed to coincide with when we have our ace helper Olivier working on the farm. This year, however, we began cutting the same weekend that Olivier ended his summer here, because he has gone off to participate in a Canada World Youth exchange in Honduras. Lucky for Canada World Youth, not so lucky for us, especially me, because with Olivier gone, I get to be him. I have always been very appreciative of the work required to produce the hay that sustains not only our cattle but my horses over the winter. Let’s just say I have an even more profound appreciation of this after the last few weeks of helping Dave out in the field.

School has started for the girls and it seems like a great time to launch this website. It is also the perfect time for old and new customers alike to make plans for ordering their sides and quarters. The beasties have been growing fat and sleek with the abundant pasture. The rain has at least been good for that. Let us know if you’d like to be on the list for beef this fall. We’d also love to hear any feedback you might have on the new website.

Thanks for taking a look.

Stephanie
